Caran d’Ache Dragon Edouard Jud Solid Silver/Pearl Fountain Pen
Limited-edition “Dragon”: an imperial myth. Caran d’Ache, the House of Fine Writing, presents its limited-edition “Dragon” collection, created in collaboration with Swiss jeweler Edouard Jud.
This unique collector’s piece features a dragon-inspired design that enchantingly combines strength and delicacy. A true “angel of the Orient,” the dragon is endowed with magical and spiritual powers. It takes the form of a giant scaly serpent with a fish-like tail and powerful claws. The number of its claws reflects its power.
Drawing on its expertise and artisanal craftsmanship, Caran d’Ache has created a pen that will delight all connoisseurs of rare and refined objects. This limited edition was created as a tribute to China. The vibrant red lacquer adorning these 88 “Dragon” fountain pens symbolizes life and rebirth. These 88 works of art—a true ode to China—echo the number 8, the Chinese symbol of balance and good fortune.
While the dragon embodies the Emperor, the pearl represents the ruler’s wisdom, as well as the perfection of his thoughts and decrees. The highly elegant design is crafted from rhodium-plated solid silver. It features a five-clawed dragon, the emblem of the all-powerful emperor. The cap and pen body are each adorned with two dragons, while five more are engraved on the section. A total of nine dragons embellish this limited edition, with the number 9 symbolizing absolute perfection. Delicate carvings also depict a lotus flower, a temple, and a cherry blossom. The ruler’s wisdom is evoked by a refined finishing touch: an Akoya pearl crowning the top of the cap.
Unique and infinitely precious, the “Dragon” limited-edition pens are presented in a special black lacquered wooden case.
