The cap and pen body are adorned with graduated grooves evoking radio frequency signals. The clip is inspired by a telephone handset, while the nib features the official logo of the Marconi Foundation.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eConsidered the father of radio—a recognition shared by the famous Russian scientist Alexander Stepanovich Popov—Marconi conducted important experiments from a ship following the Anglo-Russian treaty of 1902. After conducting the first tests with a magnetic detector on board, Marconi had the honor of meeting the Tsar of Russia.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eOn September 9, 1902, aboard the ship *Carlo Alberto*, Marconi received the first official radio transmission in history, covering a distance of 1,540 kilometers between the American and European continents.
